Anniversary Celebration Number Two!

Our Anniversary is not until Monday but since Monday is Memorial Day as well we thought we'd celebrate a little early. To get things started we ate at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Brad loves to get the Mammy's Breakfast and their pancakes are really good! That's what I had. This year we went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. They had the Body Worlds exhibit and a Hubble video in Imax that we wanted to see. There were lots of other cool things to look at and do as well. It was really neat to think about how your body is put together so perfectly and how everything fits so well inside! They had a part about babies and how big they are at different parts of the pregnancy. That part was very personal since we are cooking one up right now. At week 9 you can see almost everything; eyes, fingers, mouth.... they are tiny but they are all there! I think that made me realize that I have a miracle growing inside me right now. It's an amazing, emotionally moving, feeling. For dinner we went to a sushi place but limited ourselves to the California rolls because they don't have any raw seafood. All of the rolls we had were very good. I think we both left very stuffed. To end the day we saw The Prince of Persia. Good movie. Lots of fun packed into one day! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

Brad and me at the museum

We always buy a little something to help us remember our day. This is Selinite. Brad and I both thought it was neat looking. Brad was a huge rock fan when he was little and I have become one since teaching Earth Science.

This was a necklace Brad bought me. It looks kind of like the rock we got.

Final Friday

I went in to work late today and packed my final 3 boxes. Everyone was checking out so I joined the madness of trying to find all of the necessary people to sign off on various things. I was finished by 10:20 am! I said my goodbyes to the people I would miss and tried to avoid those I wouldn't. There were no tears as I walked out the door for the final time. I couldn't help but say, "So Long, Suckers!"

Last Thursday

Today was spent going to meetings. They gave us a bunch of info on stuff for next year; stuff I didn't need to know but had to sit through anyway! I used it as another reminder of how nice it will be to not have that stuff to worry about in August! Yay! They also fed us lunch and then had an awards ceremony. I got "The Luckiest Pallet" award. Everyone is very envious of my excellent souse chef husband! After the fun I packed up several boxes and put them in my truck. I still have 3 more boxes but am trying to organise them so if I ever look at them again it won't be very hard to figure out where stuff is. It is a good feeling to know that I have 1 more day left and then I 'm free! Summer fun here I come!

Last Wednesday

I had one class that took finals today. Four out of ten came to take it. Needless to say only 3 will pass. Somewhat disappointing but I keep reminding myself that my other 2 classes did very well. I started taking all of the posters and student work off the walls and saving all of my lessons to a hard copy so if I ever teach those subjects again I'll have it all ready to go. As I was cleaning my room, I was once again shocked at the amount of paper I was throwing in the recycle box. It is really crazy how many copies of stuff you have to make and then not use or how much useless info you get at meetings that you look at for 5 minutes and then forget about it till the end of the year. I left my room looking bare and rather empty. Although I will miss a few of the students, I will not miss the stress involved with trying to get them to come to school and make good grades. Three days down, two more to go!

Last Tuesday

I gave my last Astronomy finals today! Just one more class to go before I can officially be done with students! We alLso had a field day at the park. EveryOne had lots of fun playing volley ball, kickball, & other games. We were all finished by about 2pm and I was able  to get all the finals graded. I also got my brides Maid dress in to get Altered. It fit a little more snuggly than when I first bought it. Cross your fingers And hope it still fits in a month! HAHA!

The Countdown is on!

This is my last week at CLA so I thought I'd do a little blogging about it.

Last Monday
I woke up at the usual time on my last Monday. The day was normal; our last full day with the students. I had good classes with my first 2 blocks but only 1 showed up for my last class. I have lunch duty outside and today was only different because it was my last time standing outside trying to keep the students on campus. Oh, and it was super windy. Good thing my hair is fully attached to my scalp because if it wasn't it would have been gone. At the end of the day I printed off my finals and shut down my computer for the last time on Monday. 1 day down, 4 to go!

Our Baby is a ........

GIRL! Yay! We are sooooooo excited! The doctor said everything looked good! The only thing they were curious about was the due date. Apparently I have a big baby. She is in the 98th percentile! And I thought I looked small! haha! So, I might be a couple of weeks farther along than I thought or we have a big baby girl! They will monitor the babies growth to make sure she doesn't get to big. I have attached the ultrasound pictures so you can see how she looks! Enjoy meeting Bethany!

This is a picture of the face. The next one is the same one but enlarged.

This is kind of fuzzy but the doc said this was our baby's "mean face"

This is the money shot! It's a picture of the bottom. It's a girl! The doctor said he was 98% sure but not to go out and buy $1000 worth of girls clothes! haha! I guess there is still a slight chance we could get a surprise!

Our baby likes to stretch! This is a picture of her legs all stretched out! The doctor was really surprised to see her like this.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! We certainly did!

His email is chefhall@gmail.com Brad and I will cook up your dish and pick the best ones! And if sharing recipes for fun is not worth it maybe a prize is! The winners will receive a prize. I'm not talking about a "good job" or a certificate, I'm talking about a real prize! the only catch is that you have to send your recipe in before May 15th. Brad will be announcing the winner then so don't procrastinate! I can't wait to try all of your dishes! Good luck!
