Patio Furniture and Baby Movement!

Brad and I decided to buy some much needed patio furniture for the sun room We found a really cute set at Target. I can't wait till it gets warmer so I can spend all of my time out there!

The update on the baby is that I felt movement on April 15th! Not like you care about the exact date but I wanted to write it down so I could remember. I wasn't exaclty sure because it kind of felt like it was in my intestines! Then a couple of days later I felt the same thing again and so was pretty sure it was the baby! It was like a marble rolling against my stomach. (like flipping or turning over?) I usually feel him/her moving when I drive home from work and when I lay down at night. Brad was able to feel something last week. It is really a neat experience to share together. Finally proof that I'm not just bloated but there is really a living thing in there! My next appointment is on May 10th and then I get my ultrasound on May12th! I think we will want to know if it's a boy or girl so expect to hear about that when it happens! I'll leave you with another picture I took of myself last night. I think the angle this was taken makes me look bigger than I really am. I'm in my 18th week /5th month.

More Pregnancy News

So, the second doctors visit went well. They didn't find anything out of the ordinary. We have to weigh ourselves and I forgot to do that so have no idea what I weigh! OOPS! I am recording a food diary this week so when I go back next time they can see if I'm eating healthy. I don't think they will have too many complaints.
Another bit of news is that we got our tax return back so bought the furniture for the baby's room and a car seat stroller combo! Glad to have that out of the way! We also paid off the Midwifery place! Now they owe us! HAHA! I have a few pics for you of my belly and some of the baby stuff we bought, so enjoy!

We cleaned out the other guest room to get ready for the furniture. You can kind of see the stroller still in the box. It will stay that way till I get out of school.

Do I Look Pregnant Yet?!

So , I'll add a little about my birthday. The best part was that neither Brad or I had to work so we got to spend the day together! I did some clothes shopping and we ate at the Spicy Pickle for lunch. Brad also cooked me a great supper! It was a really good day. Thanks to everyone who sent cards, gifts, emails, or called. I loved each one!

The Bathroom is Finished!

Well, here it is! Our brand new bathroom! I can't wait till you all come and see it and take a shower in it! Brad picked a really nice dark red curtain to go with it! We will have to paint the walls but that is just fine because we will get to choose the color we want. I'm very excited to start working on the rest of the basement now!

Mountain Midwifery Center

Most of you are already aware that I am pregnant but if you didn't already know.....Surprise! Brad and I went to an orientation at the Mountain Midwifery Center this morning. I have been checking out different places; mainly hospitals and every time I would ask if they had other options like a birthing center they would always reply "NO! You have to have your baby in the hospital!!!" I have heard several stories of births at hospitals. Some good, some bad but one thing I always seem to pick up on is that you have a designated amount of time to have your baby and if things don't move along at the rate the hospital wants then they will do everything possible to hurry you along. This place is very big into the idea that birth is a normal event, not a "problem to take care of" (That is how they portray the hospital's view.) They said that I can do all of my checkups with them. They offer parenting and birth classes. The one thing I was surprised about was that after you have the baby you get to go home 4 - 6 hours later. That is if you and your baby are both doing well. They also do home visits and checkups after the birth. It sounds like they know what they are doing so I think we are going to give them a shot! My first real appointment will be next week. I'm supposed to be about 12 weeks then so we will get to hear the baby's heart! I'll let you know how it goes!

Basement remodel update

They finally got the dry wall up! It's not a huge bathroom so my guess is they should be done by the end of the week! Yay! I can't wait to show you how it looks finished!
